Initially published internally on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (May 18th). I also added a new feature specifically devoted to AI (“Model Citizen” - get it?) so that the entire newsletter wouldn’t be just AI each time.
Always With the Learning

Vitaly Friedman wrote about designing for neurodiversity and how that is part of accessibility. It’s chock full of further resources and great information.
Carie Fisher has a post about accessible patterns that includes a bunch of examples and more resources too.
Camilla Ellyton gave a talk at HUSTEF about accessibility and how to get started in it. It’s a good intro to a11y!
Memesis
Two memes this time!

Get That Brain Moving
Record a Goose Sighting was created as a UK Ministry of Justice exercise in accessibility, and it’s just as relevant as ever. We did this activity as a group several years ago, but it’s a good one to go back to even if you were there!
Model Citizen
Everyone seems to be coming out with an AI-related manifesto these days, but here’s the newest one I’ve found, specifically for the quality space: The Manifesto for Confidence Engineering ! The people behind it are pretty heavy hitters, this is one to take seriously.
Katja Obring has a good post on what the real argument we should be having now is. Spoiler: what is good enough?
